The Mechanism

Aerogel architecture, engineered

Polarthin Ghost uses one of the lightest solid materials known to science. Air is trapped in nano-scale pores, creating a thermal barrier that drastically outperforms traditional lofty insulation — down, synthetic fill, or fleece — inside a 1mm profile.

5× thermal advantage

Five times the insulation per millimeter compared to conventional textile liners. While thicker aerogel fabrics show slightly better total insulation, they do so at significantly greater bulk and weight — a tradeoff Ghost was specifically engineered to eliminate.

Active breathability

Hydrophobic and breathable. Polarthin moves moisture away from the skin or substrate while blocking external liquid penetration — critical for outdoor apparel, gloves, and any garment expected to perform in real weather.
